Clergy Offers Prayers For IEBC

Independent Electoral and Boundaries (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati has appealed to Faith-Based Organisations to extend their support to the Commission.

The beacon is part of a wider call by the IEBC to push for support in order to achieve a successful General Election slated for 9th August 2022.

Chebukati thanked NCCK for offering to pray for the Commission and said as members of the religious community and Faith-Based Organizations they were key stakeholders for peace and the 2022 General Election.

The prayer session was led by the National Council of Churches at the Jumuia Conference and Country Home in Limuru.

Clergy led by ACK Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit prayed for guidance, courage and commitment for the Commission to deliver a free, fair and credible 2022 General Election and asked the country to pray for a peaceful election and the country to be united and prosper.

ACK Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit reminded the Commission to put its trust in God even as it endeavours to deliver a credible 2022 General Election that will unite the nation.

The Commission collaborates with key partners and stakeholders including Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Public Benefit Organizations, Electoral Technical Assistance Provider, Development Partners, Election Observers, Political Parties and the Media among others.
