Lawyer Cliff Ombeta has vowed to appeal the Sentencing of Willie Kimani’s murderers stating that the sentence was pernicious and that the sentencing was nonexistent.
Advocate Ombeta said that the in the Judgement, the Court imported evidence which according to the Lawyer is clear indication that the court was under pressure from NGOs, LSK and some other groups.
” Did the court really want to convict these people and wash its hands…” posed Ombeta.
According to the Lawyer, in the same case, one of the accused persons was acquitted because technology and the phone details of his movement indicated that he was not around the crime scene on the fateful night.
However, Ombeta seemed perplexed that the same technology was not used to acquit the other accused persons.
According to the Lawyer, the court used double standard to convict the four accused persons.
