Incarcerated Ng’eno ranks 2nd best MP in Kenya, a new poll reveals

A survey by statistics firm Infotrak has ranked Emurua Dikir MP Johana Ng’eno as Kenya’s second best performing legislator.

Ng’eno who was recently expelled from the Kenya African National Union (KANU) party, won 71.4% points to topple his peers.

He came second after Emuhaya MP, Jeremiah Omboko Milemba, an Amani National Congress (ANC) party member who got 75.4% points.

Vincent Musyoka of Mwala Constituency came third with 70.8% points, Christopher Aseka of Khwisero (70.0%) and Patrick Mweu of Kibwezi West (69.8%) came fourth and fifth respectively.

Johana Ng’eno was arrested over incitement to hate speech charges, after a slur against President Uhuru Kenyatta, on September 8, 2020.

In Nairobi, Kibra MP Imran Okoth emerged the top most performing lawmaker in Nairobi.

Okoth, who has hardly finished a year into his new role, was followed by Westlands counterpart Tim Wanyonyi.

Embakasi West MP George Theuri, and Embakasi South counterpart Julius Mawathe ranked fourth, while Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati took fifth place in the rankings.

However, Isiolo South MP Abdi Koropu was ranked as the worst-performing MP countrywide, after garnering only 33.0%, alongside Kangema’s Clement Moturi, Molo’s Francis Kuria, and Bura’s Ali Wario.
