David Mwabili, popularly known as his stage name Inspekta Mwala was arrested on Monday evening after he was involved in an accident that killed a pedestrian who was crossing the road.
According to Kaloleni Police, the actor was driving along the Mazeras road when he hit a 35 year old pedestrian who was crossing the busy highway.
The police then after receiving the report, rushed to the scene and rescued the actor who was about to be attacked by a mob. They then fired in the air to disperse irate boda boda riders who wanted to attack Mwala.
His Toyota Axio was detained at Kaloleni Police Station, pending investigations into the accident. He was however released on bail terms.
The body of the deceased pedestrian ; Samwel Mwaki, was taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary in Mombasa.
