Interior CS Matiang’i Meets Coast Bodaboda Riders

Written By Henry Kimoli  📝

Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i is Thursday expected to take his campaign on the bodaboda sector to Coast where he will chair a meeting with key stakeholders in the transport and security sectors.

The meeting is aimed at communicating new directives targeted at bringing sanity in the bodaboda sector.

Part of directives given include mandatory procedural acquisition of Smart Riders Licenses as well as vetting and enrolment of riders into registered saccos.

The CS met the group yesterday in Nairobi and communicated the same saying the government had waived Sh5,800 registration fee to enable the riders register.

Thousands of riders have been arrested and their motorbikes detained in an operation launched after some of them were captured molesting a female motorist along Wangari Maathai Road in Nairobi.
