The University of Nairobi will host this year’s International Creator Day on May 14, bringing together a diverse community of content creators from across the region.
Organized by tech company, Teki, in partnership with major technology firms and creator platforms, the event celebrates the global influence and innovation of creators in various fields including art, music, writing, vlogging, and design.
Now in its second edition in Kenya, the event was rescheduled to May to allow for broader participation, as the official global date coincided with Easter holidays.
Teki CEO, Martin Muli, highlighted the celebration’s role in recognizing the entrepreneurial spirit of creators and their impact on society.
“This year, we are introducing the brands track, showcasing tools that enable effective collaboration between brands and content creators,” said Muli.
Themed Creator Tech Stack: Tools To Optimise Performance, the 2025 event will offer immersive engagement opportunities through exhibitions, studio setups, and conferences.
Key sessions will feature thought leaders and experts discussing emerging trends, innovations, and creator tools via demonstrations, interviews, and panel discussions.
Safaricom, the event’s gold sponsor, leads regional support for the initiative. Zizwe Awuor Vundla, Safaricom’s Director of Brand and Marketing, emphasized the cultural significance of the day.
“Creativity shapes public opinion and inspires change. This celebration underscores the essential role creators play in modern society,” she noted.
Founded in 2016 by YouTube influencer, Casey Neistat, International Creator Day has grown into a global celebration of creators’ contributions to inspiration, education, and community building across digital platforms.
