“Is Westlands Still Up For Sale?” – Museveni’s Son General Muhoozi Now Asks

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, seems to have reignited his online storm with Kenyans regarding a purported plan to conquer Nairobi together with his army in just 2 weeks.

In a tweet in October last year, Muhoozi said: “It wouldn’t take us, my army and me, 2 weeks to capture Nairobi.”

The 48-year-old went on to provoke Kenyans on social media by asking where he should live when the Ugandan army captures Nairobi.

“I’m happy that members of our district in Kenya, have responded enthusiastically to my tweet. It’s still 2 weeks to Nairobi! After our army captures Nairobi, where should I live? Westlands? Riverside?” he posed.

Ugandan government later clarified Muhoozi’s statement stating that Kenya and Uganda enjoy cordial diplomatic relations.

Kampala further stated that the Ugandan government does not use Twitter platform to communicate its foreign policy.

“We do not conduct our affairs on social media and we assure Kenya that Kampala is committed to the long-standing good neighbourliness that has existed for decades,” a statement from Uganda’s foreign ministry read in part.

On Tuesday night, Muhoozi, who President Museveni has since promoted from Lieutenant General to General, took to Twitter to inquire whether Westlands is “still up for sale”.

The tweets elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans who opted to square it out with the retired General.

“Umeamua kulitia taifa aibu tena?” asked @DrAbdinasser.

“We know why you had to drag Kenya into your tweet. Tweets aren’t going viral. 420 likes for a public figure?? You had to involve Kenya for some tweet traction,” shot @Eddie_Mugoh.

“Muhoozi or whatever they call you, we deeply appreciate your concern about Westlands but unfortunately neither you nor your tyrant father can afford a house in Westlands. We forgive you but strictly advise you not to tweet under influence of alcohol again. Simply put, BEHAVE!” warned @_clown22.
