Isiolo County: Bandit Attacks Leave Three Dead

Two bandit attacks early Sunday morning resulted in the deaths of three individuals and injuries to several others, triggering swift action from law enforcement.

The first incident took place around 12:35 a.m. in Hola Bule, where armed bandits invaded a private home, opened fire, and stole 19 cattle.

The assault left resident Yusuf Hassan Ali dead from a gunshot wound, while two others, including a National Police Reserve (NPR) officer, sustained minor injuries.

A coordinated response from local police, NPR personnel, and the Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) quickly led to the recovery of all stolen cattle. The injured parties received treatment at a local hospital and were later discharged.

Shortly thereafter, around 2:30 a.m., a second attack erupted in the Bojidare area. Reports indicate that an unknown number of heavily armed bandits entered the manyattas, fired indiscriminately, and made off with 300 goats and an undetermined number of cattle.

Local law enforcement responded rapidly, resulting in the recovery of all stolen goats and approximately 30 cattle.

Tragically, two more individuals were killed during this incident, and three others were injured. The deceased have been taken for burial rites, while the injured received medical attention at Isiolo District Hospital.

Additional police reinforcements have been dispatched to enhance security and deter any further violence in the region.
