Political activist Kasmuel McOure officially joined the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party on Sunday, announcing his commitment to revitalizing youth and student leagues across the nation.
In a statement following a meeting with ODM chairperson and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, McOure emphasized his belief that ODM is the only pro-people party in East and Central Africa.
Kasmuel called on young individuals to consider joining the party, asserting that it represents a political movement aimed at creating a fair and democratic Kenya where every citizen can live with dignity. “If you’re willing to join a substantive political movement for a fair, democratic Kenya, consider @TheODMparty – the largest pro-people party in East and Central Africa!” he stated.
He further outlined plans for outreach initiatives, focusing on encouraging both educated and uneducated young people to join ODM, as well as facilitating youth registration within the party. Kasmuel expressed gratitude to Governor Wanga for her support, highlighting the importance of youth participation in shaping the party’s future.
Governor Wanga echoed McOure’s sentiments, stating, “ODM is the party of the future, and the future of ODM is in the hands of our young people.” She emphasized the necessity for the involvement of bright young minds like Kasmuel’s to inspire change.
The announcement follows Kasmuel’s recent meeting with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, affirming his role as a prominent figure in the ongoing youth activism in Kenya, particularly in response to the controversial Finance Bill, 2024.
