IEBC Staffer Japhet Dibo has been found alive, after he was reported missing by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

The IEBC Information Technology (IT) who was contracted in the just finished General Election, reportedly went missing on Thursday, August 18.

Dibo was last seen at his KISM office on Ngong Road, according to a police report filed at Kilimani Police Station.

Dibo had escorted an unknown visitor to his company, but he had never returned.

Mr Trevor Lichuma, his lawyer, said that Mr Dibo was kidnapped by unknown people around 10 p.m. on Thursday and freed at 2 p.m. on Friday.

His abduction comes just days after Embakasi East Constituency returning officer Daniel Musyoka’s body was discovered in a thicket in Loitoktok, Kajiado County.

Wafula Chebukati, Chairman of the IEBC, had expressed worry that the commission’s employees were being threatened, profiled, and intimidated.

Mr Chebukati stated that the electoral agency’s crucial workers who had worked at the National Tallying Centre in the Bomas of Kenya were being harassed while pronouncing William Ruto as the president-elect.
