Jeremiah Kioni: Kikuyu Community Is Under Attack By Current Gov’t

 

Jeremiah Kioni says that Kikuyu community is under attack by the current government.

Kioni was speaking at Milimani Law Courts minutes after a case involving senior citizens accused of malicious damage to property believed to be grabbed by powerful people.

In the case 25 people some aged 80 and 90 years old from Naivasha have been charged with damaging barbed concrete poles fence valued at Ksh 2.5 million the property of Eburru hills farm limited.

According to the prosecution, David Mwaura Wanjiru, Eliud Kinyanjui, John Maina. Julius Njoroge, Julius Kinyua, Elijah Mugwe, Hiram Ngatia, Daniel Njogu, George Kimani, Paul Maina, Joram Mogeni, Benjamin Mwangi, James ngugi, Joseph Macharia, Joshua Nyanyasi, Peter Kimani, Bernard Mwangi, James Makena, Ann Wanjiku, Ruth Wangui, Alvin Kamano, David Chege, James Gakinya, Ngugi Wanyeki, Njoroge Kungu on February 29, 2024 at Gathondia Village in Naivasha jointly damaged barbed concrete poles fence valued at Ksh 2.5 million the property of Eburru hills farm limited.

The accused persons have so far denied the charges and are out of bond.

Kioni reiterated that Moi’s regime tried grabbing the same land from the Kikuyu community when Benjamin Kulei claimed ownership of the land but did not succeed.

“I would like the world to see the 90 years old citizens accused of destroying president Ruto’s property, this is a trend of harassing people from Mt.Kenya, the same piece of land Moi regime tried to take the same land from these people, he did not succeed, Benjamin Kulei never took over possession of that land, Ruto now thinks that he can take it away from these people, we want to assure him he will not take it less of our dead bodies…we are under attack and don’t be cheated we are under attack and colleagues who are in bunge you were elected to defend Kenyans.” Said Jeremiah Kioni.
