A 23-year-old student at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) is expected to face murder charges at Thika Law Court after being arrested for allegedly killing his roommate on Sunday night.
Josphat Nyambuga, an architecture student, is suspected of hitting Arnold Otieno, 21, on the head with a blunt object, causing him to collapse and die that fateful night.
According to Juja Sub-county police commander Phyllis Muthoni, the suspect covered the corpse with a bedsheet and hid it under the bed without informing anyone.
“After receiving the report on Monday around 8 p.m., we went to the scene and discovered the suspect in the same room, living with the body of the deceased,” Muthoni said.
Nyambuga was arrested on Tuesday, September 27, and is being held at the Juja police station while police gather more evidence to charge him.
