After months of being absent from party activities, ODM deputy leader Hassan Joho and the National Assembly Minority Whip Junet Mohammed caught up with party leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday.
According to Raila’s social media post, the trio met for lunch with former Council of Governors Chair Wycliffe Oparanya.
“Had a refreshing lunch with my brothers. Tuko Imara!” Raila said.
Odinga affirmed that the party was still intact and allayed fears over a possible fallout within the opposition party.
The meeting touched on, among other issues, the planned public rallies called for by members of the Azimio la Umoja coalition.

“ODM Leader HE. Raila Odinga this afternoon held a consultative meeting with his deputies Hon. Wycliffe Oparanya and Hon. Hassan Ali Joho during which they discussed party matters and the ongoing People’s Consultative Forums being pushed by the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition. Also present was NA Minority Whip Hon. Junet Mohammed.”
Junet and Joho were regulars at Azimio rallies but vanished after Raila’s defeat in the August 2022 General Election.
The meeting comes after speculations from Kenyans following their missing in action at Raila’s protest rallies against President William Ruto’s regime.
Azimio is currently in turmoil after allied ODM MPs met President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at State House, raising questions about whether they have switched allegiance to the Kenya Kwanza government.
