IEBC Thwarts Juma State House Dream

Justus Juma, the presidential candidate of the Justice and Freedom Party, and his running mate Anne Wavinya may be disqualified from the race due to a lack of documentation.

Juma, who appeared for vetting on Sunday, failed to provide the commission with the required document of soft copies of supporters, as well as failing to meet the 48,000-supporter threshold.

“We’re rejecting your application because you don’t have all of the required documentation.”

You can reapply, and we will consider it,” said Wafula Chebukati, chairman of the commission.

The commission has given Juma until June 2 to reapply for vetting once he has obtained all of the necessary documents to be officially cleared as an aspirant.

Juma, on the other hand, believes he’ll be on the ballot.

“With the exception of one technical issue involving the electronic form or soft copy of our supporters, we have successfully presented our documents.” We presented the hard copy, which the IEBC approved. “We have them here in the compound and will finalize by June 2nd,” Juma said.

This comes just hours after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rejected Peter King’ori’s candidacy for President in August due to a lack of signatures.
