A knife-wielding man in Muguga, Kiambu county has been killed by his victim in a botched robbery attempt.
Evans Atuya, 35, whose lifeless body was found lying at the scene by DCI detectives, encountered his match when he attempted to break into an apartment.
Godwin Wanyama, the tenant, was attacked at his home in Muguga, Kabete sub-county, by Mr. Atuya and two of his accomplices.
The three had stormed into Mr. Wanyama’s house at 2 a.m., bashing down his door with a large rock and jolting him out of his rest.
The attackers attempted to control their victim, prompting Mr. Wanyama to defend himself.

He rushed for Atuya’s hand and took the knife from him before brutally stabbing him on the neck. Upon seeing the turn of events, the other accomplices ran for dear life.
Evans Atuya succumbed to his injuries by the time Police officers from Muguga police station arrived at the scene.
Police have labeled the apartment a crime scene, as an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause of death.
