A four-year-old boy died after he fell from the fourth floor of a residential house while playing with his friends in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
According to police, Mark Allan slid and fell on his head on their house’s balcony.
“He landed on the ground floor of the apartment [block] and sustained serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he died while being attended to,” a police statement read.
Police said they are investigating the tragic incident, which was termed an accident.
A postmortem examination is planned on the body as part of the investigations into the death.
In another incident on the same area, police are investigating an incident in which an eight-year-old boy was electrocuted.
Master David Baraka was playing with his friends when he touched a naked live wire that was on the rooftop of their house in the area.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Such cases are common in the city’s informal settlements at an alarming rate and are blamed for among others illegal power connections.
