On Saturday, plumes of smoke rose from fires blazing in two Kakamega High School dormitories.
The fire broke in the wee hours of the morning as the students were in morning preps.
The principal, Gerald Orina said that the efforts of the students to extinguish the fire were futile.
There are no casualties reported.
He reassures that the investigation will be carried out to find out the cause of the fire.
Kakamega High School joins the rampant cases of fire outbreaks around the country including schools like
Gendia boys in Homabay, Buruburu girls and Kijabe boys.
While addressing the cases, Education CS Prof. George Magoha said students caught up in the arson
incidents will be dealt with according to the law.
