Kakamega Homeboyz Sack Coach John Baraza

Kenya Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz have parted ways with their head coach John Baraza.

The western region-based club cited a run of poor performances as the reason for his sacking.

“We have made changes to the technical bench and with immediate effect. This is due to the string of poor results we have been recording.

“I assure fans that plenty of positive changes are on the way and we will start winning matches soon. I ask that they be patient for a while,” part of the press release from the club read.

The club which is currently ranked 8th in the 2022/2023 KPL log also announced that most of the technical staff will leave their roles.

“The Technical Director Edward Manoah and Goalkeeper Trainer John Waw will be in charge of the team on a temporary basis.

“The rest will step aside,” added a statement from the chairperson Cleophas Shimanyula.

He also stated that the players should pull up their socks because they are part of the problem.

According to Shimanyula, those who fail to improve their performance will face a similar fate as Baraza.

The tactician’s stint at the club has only lasted for a couple of months.

The former Harambee Stars player took charge of the club on Thursday, October 27, 2022, replacing Benard Mwalala.
