Kalonzo ‘Abandons’ Raila, Azimio

Kalonzo Musyoka has technically quit the Azimio alliance.

In a move reminiscent to his ugly parting with Raila Odinga in 2005, Kalonzo accused Raila of using lawyer Makau Mutua to stall the proposed Wiper Azimio deal.

He said Raila needed to honour their 2013 election deal and back Kalonzo.

“By accepting nomination of the Orange Democratic Movement to run as president for the 5th time, I believe my brother Hon. Raila Odinga has committed an irreparable material breach of this Agreement” Kalonzo said.

Effectively, the move points to a Kalonzo second stab at the Presidency since 2007.

The deal to deliver the Kamba vote has been left to the three Governors Alfred Mutua, Charity Ngilu, and Professor Kivutha Kibwana, and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita.
