Martha Karua, the head of Narc Kenya, has accused Wiper and Kanu of forsaking other political parties in the One Kenya Alliance (OKA).
Ms Karua said in an interview with NTV on Monday evening that the end of OKA came when both Wiper of Kalonzo Musyoka and Gideon Moi’s Kanu inked a pact to join Azimio.
“Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi, Ms Karua, and Cyrus Jirongo had just inked an agreement to approach any coalition discussions together, only for Wiper and Kanu to jump aboard Mr Odinga’s Azimio train 24 hours later.”
She hinted that there was nothing barring her party from joining her former colleagues and work together ahead of the August General elections with the succession race now shaping up to be a two-horse battle.
“We are still friends because even before that signing, we were still working together. Yes, individual parties parted ways with OKA but we can still work together. There is no deadline for people to work together. Even those of our colleagues whom we were with in OKA, we can still walk together in this journey without any agreement,” said Ms Karua.
Ms Karua, who has yet to join either of the two parties, said she will have to decide between Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The Azimio-OKA coalition has been in shambles since the One Kenya Alliance joined in as a coalition partner.
