Rigathi Gachagua thinks Kalonzo Musyoka helped President Mwai Kibaki.
Rigathi Gachagua, Mathira MP was an aide of President Kenyatta between 1997 and 2016.
Gachagua was in the GEMA inner circle that humiliated Kalonzo in 2013 in favor of Uhururuto.
Gachagua is a brilliant politician who, when politically fingered can cripple the opposition
During the burial of Senator Muthama daughter, Gachagua urged the Kambas to reject Azimio in favour of DP William Ruto because Kalonzo was ignored during the Mwai Kibaki funeral.
Now Kalonzo is NOT a former Kibaki aid. He competed against Kibaki in 2007 and never backed Kibaki. He and Kambas only stopped Raila and Kibaki from burning Kenya.
Kalonzo was NOT among the 8 ICC suspects and neither was Raila.
Kalonzo is bigger and politically better endowed than Raila and Ruto and when he elects to play second fiddle to Kibaki, Raila, and President Uhuru, it is because he values national cohesion.
Now that Rigathi says Kalonzo should not be interviewed by Azimio for running mate, can UDA declare him the running mate?
The Kamba nation supported Jomo, Moi, Uhuru, and Raila for one singular reason it cherishes its position as the glue that binds Kenya.
Paul Ngei supported Jomo Kenyatta with passion while Gen Mulinge and Mulu Mutisya stood out for Moi. Kalonzo has supported MOI, KIBAKI, UHURU and RAILA. What more can a community do?
It is not about any of the above but it is about the DNA of the Kamba nation and Gachagua knows the attributes of the Kamba Community.
Kambas are politically principled and mature. It was only in 1992 that the community split their votes between Kenneth Matiba, Mwai Kibaki, and President Moi.Â
Likely scenario on 9th August 2022, the community will vote for Azimio Raila based on its interests. UDA may Lazarus some crumps here and there, especially from Liberal Kamba youth and Middle class.
Both Azimio and UDA are staking out over the running mate position and UDA has no vacancy for Kalonzo.
Raila has had for two cycles but now the mountain has arrived and it’s intense with political oxygen galore.
This scenario is not preposterous but it is based on imperial facts collected since independence where a Kenya government laced with the potent Kamba Kamuti has retained cohesion.
