Kalonzo urges Kambas in Taita Taveta “to lie low”

Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has urged the Kamba Community in diaspora to cultivate harmonies relationships with the locals. – By Enock Mukoma

While speaking during a tour of Taita Taveta County, Kalonzo said that devolution seats such as the gubernatorial seat should be set aside for the local communities.

According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), the Kamba community is more than 50 per cent of the Taita Taveta County.

For instance, Nthenge Lukindo and journalist Jackson Mwalulu are former MPs in Taveta. Kamba voters are also the majority in Matugu Constituency, Kwale County.

Kalonzo also urged the Kamba community to settle for a Deputy Governor position, urging his statesmen to vie for the position.
The move is likely to increase pressure on Kalonzo from Governors Dr. Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), and Charity Ngilu (Kitui).
