KNH strike suspended after Court order

An industrial strike orchestrated by workers at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has been suspended.

This is after a court order was issued by the Employment and Labour court.

Union officials have given the referral hospital’s management a three-week ultimatum to give a way forward.

Since its agreement was reached in 2012, harmonization of the new agreement was only done on the top management.

According to the agreement, every worker was put in a job group that was subject to growth and allowances. It is this law that the staff want to be implemented.

Kenyatta National Hospital is the backbone of the health sector that caters to most Kenyans who cannot afford health services from private hospitals.
