KAMP To Pay Music Producers 17 Million In Royalties

The Kenya Association of Music Producers (KAMP) has announced that it will distribute Sh17,126,454 in royalties to its members in the first quarter of 2024.

This decision was made following delegate approval at a special general meeting in Nairobi.

During the meeting, KAMP Chairperson Angela Ndambuki provided an overview of the distribution.

She stated that a total of Sh17,128,000 would be distributed, with Sh9.075 million set aside for general distribution and Sh8.05 million for scientific distribution.

Ndambuki emphasized that these distributions account for a significant portion of KAMP’s income for the period.

“The distribution we are declaring is from collections in Quarter 1 of Sh27,809,675.77/-, which is 21.12% of our share from Sh131,674,601.20/- collected by KAMP-PRISK-MCSK from January to March 2024,” she explained.

Furthermore, Ndambuki emphasized KAMP’s operational efficiency, stating that despite having the lowest revenue share (21.12%), KAMP remains Kenya’s most efficiently run collective management organization (CMO).
