Kangemi Man Denies Stabbing Wife Over Cheating Claims

A man was on Friday arraigned in Court for allegedly assaulting his wife and attempting to stab her with a kitchen knife.

A man was on Friday arraigned in Court for allegedly assaulting his wife and attempting to stab her with a kitchen knife.

Stephen Omuse was charged before Kibera Senior Principal Magistrate Derrick Kuto where he denied the charges.

Omuse is accused of attempting to slit his wife’s throat after suspecting that she was dating another man.

“You are hereby charged with assault contrary to the law where you assaulted Josephene Mapesa causing her actual bodily harm.” reads the charge sheet.

According to the court papers, the woman was at her workplace when the accused person passed by and took her to his Kangemi home.

He then started interrogating her about her relationships with her customers.

Unsatisfied with the response from his wife, he started assaulting her prompting the woman to cry in pain for help.

Neighbours intervened and arrested the violent husband.

The accused person was released with a cash bail of Ksh 30,000.
