Kitui West MCA Anthony Munyao has appealed to President Ruto to order the construction of a climbing lane at the killer Kauwi Bridge.

Munyao, speaking during the burial of 4 youths who perished at the bridge said many people have died at the spot.

“I appeal to President William Ruto to rescue my people from this killer road section,” Munyao said.

Area MP Edith Nyenze said he has visited KeNHA many times to petition on the rising accidents and said a solution must be found.

Four choir members on their way home were knocked down by a speeding lorry. At the same spot, a cow was knocked down by a lorry, just minutes before a funeral procession passed the bridge.

The four were laid to rest after a requiem mass officiated by Bishop Joseph Mwongela.
