A win in the quarterfinals guarantees the team a spot in the semi-finals of the 17th Dala Sevens tournament.

KCB easily defeated varsity lads Blak Blad 31-0 before easily defeating Impala 19-0 in their second match of the day.

The bankers also crushed Strathmore Leos 21-10 in a game that began with a one-minute silence to remember former KCB forward Jerry Olola, who died on Thursday.

Head coach Denis Mwanja exuded confidence, implying that adequate preparations and tactical awareness foresaw the lions’ back-to-back victories.

“The boys took my instructions carefully therefore winning was inevitable. Our tactical approach guaranteed the team positive results and we can’t wait for tomorrow. We want to come back here and replicate the same mentality and desire to win,” observed Mwanja.

KCB was in Group C with Strathmore Leos, Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad, and Impala.

The bankers are hoping to win the Dala Sevens to extend their current 58-point lead in the National Sevens circuit. Strathmore Leos are second with 53 points.

The host club Kisumu RFC organizes the Dala Sevens tournament. The National Sevens Series heads to Nakuru for the Prinsloo Sevens tournament next weekend.
