A KCSE examiner is being investigated after being caught on CCTV camera allegedly stealing clothes at Alliance Girls High School.
In a Thursday viral video, the female examiner, a Kiswahili teacher, is seen picking clothes from a hanging line that included innerwear, face towels, and blouses.
She walks towards a clothesline, carrying some clothes on her shoulder, before looking around and selecting the clothes.
The incident was reportedly captured last week Thursday at around 1 pm.
The school’s administration told a local news outlet that they had dealt with the situation before turning the examiner over to the authorities.
“The case was handled as a criminal matter and given the right attention by the security officials at the examinations centre.“
The unnamed examiner was asked to write a formal statement on the alleged theft after being caught.
According to sources, her colleagues were able to identify their clothes from the hanging lines.
Alliance Girl’s security officers also reported the incident to Kiambu Police, who launched an investigation.
The incident comes less than a month after a police officer was arrested in Bomet County on accusation of stealing from female invigilators.
This occurred during the KCSE exam period at Kimulot High School in the Konoin constituency.
The officer was caught on CCTV ransacking the handbags of female invigilators, who claimed they had lost money.
