A suspected Kenya Defense forces (KDF) fraudster has been slapped with heavy bond and bail terms for conning Kenyans promising them job opportunities.

Mr. Kipkoech Langat obtained Ksh 3.8m from Vincent Koech Mutai pretending that he was in a position to facilitate the employment of the complainant’s seven Kins in the (KDF).

The accused is believed to have approached the complainant between 14th November 2021 and 27th February 2022 with a false promise of being able to connect the complainant with top KDF officers in a bid to secure his kins’ job in 2022 KDF recruitment.

Appearing before Milimani Law Courts Chief Magistrate Micheni Wendy, the accused person denied the charges and was released on a bond of Ksh 1m and an alternative cash bail of Ksh 1m.

The case has been slated on 1st April 2022 for pretrial.

Kenyans have continued to lose millions of money via the cheap seduction of conmen and conwomen in the name of the connection to the military career.

However, the Ministry of Defense has reiterated that opportunities in the military are fair to all Kenyans.
