Laikipia Security Team Delivers Free Medical Camp

On November 2, multiagency security teams in Laikipia County held a free medical camp at Ol Moran Center.

Locals were treated for Malaria, Diarrhea, Respiratory Tract Infections, and Hypertension.

They were also given health tips on nutrition and how to avoid common ailments.

During the exercise, almost 100 patients were treated.

The crew also paid a visit to the Ol Moran maternity clinic and Health Centre, where they provided medical equipment and pharmaceuticals.

Led by Commanding Officer 5th Kenya Rifles Lieutenant Colonel Dennis Obiero, the troops donated a Portable Pressure Steam Sterilizer, a delivery bed, a space heater, and drugs to the institution to leverage on the current bed and drug shortage.

Mr. Henry Kemboi, the Health Centre’s Clinical Officer, received the equipment.

Residents were assured by Lt Colonel Obiero that the multiagency team would continue to support the Health Centre in order to improve service delivery.

He recommended expecting mothers go to prenatal clinics and deliver their babies in order to minimize problems and preventable baby deaths.
