A three-day bio-manufacturing programme held by the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and its collaborators kicked off today.

The forum will work towards developing future human capital’s knowledge and abilities in the production of vaccines in Kenya and nearby regions.

Prof. Elijah Songok, the Ag. DG of KEMRI stressed the need for Kenya to be independent in the creation of vaccines for the future in his remarks during the opening ceremony.

The International Vaccine Institute (IVI & GTH) is providing on-site training for biomanufacturing that is intended to provide research scientists with both accelerated theoretical and practical knowledge to help the pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystem.
