The inaugural Global One Health Initiative (GOHI) conference is being held by the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) to bring together professionals, partners, and trainees working in the #OneHealth theme areas and exchanging expertise for efficient and long-term capacity building.
Partners in the Ohio State GOHi partnership come together for a two-day conference aimed at showcasing the impact of varied involvement on global resilience for one health.
In his opening remarks, the DG, Prof. Songok underscored the importance of partnership, “We are at a critical juncture where our planet is interconnected. Our collective action on disease prevention and control in animal and human health and the environment will need to be integrated.”
Executive Director GOHi, Ohio State, Prof. Gebreyes; Executive Director, Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDI); Deputy Director, ILRI, Dr. Siboniso Moyo; and Deputy Director, Science for Africa Deputy Programmes Director, Dr. Alphonsus Neba, who gave the keynote address, were all present at the opening ceremony.
