KenGen in Sh.1.9b windfall

Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) has received Sh1.98billion from the world bank towards the upgrading of Geothermal Training Centre through the East skills for Transformation Regional Integration Project (EASTRIP) which is part of its expansion strategy.

The company is seeking to procure consultancy services for the development and implementation of a master plan to upgrade the training centre to a Regional centre of Excellence.

The upgrade will also include:

Development of curriculum, construction and installation of tuition block; lecturer rooms, administration offices and library. Construction and installation of laboratories and workshops, construction and installation accommodation and catering facilities and lastly establishment of associated infrastructure and services.

The role of the consultancy firm required will be to; Develop a master plan for upgrading Geothermal training Centre to Regional Centre of Excellence to include; a business model, marketing strategy and sustainability plan. The firm will also participate in the implementation of the master-plan which will be in collaboration with KenGen.

Firms applying to provide the services are advised to have their expression of Interest accompanied by their qualifications, professional capabilities and details of experience related to similar consultancy services. Well detailed company profile and tax compliance certificate are among the mandatory requirements.
