KeNHA Partners With NGAO, Homabay Transporters To Tame Overloading

A Multi-agency team has been formed to sensitise and protect the public on critical infrastructure preservation.

Homabay County Commissioner Moses Lilan Says the team drawn from his office, the County Government of Homabay, KeNHA, NEMA, and Kenya Police is in place.

He said the national Government had invested billions of shillings in roads, hence the need to arrest vandalism.

He cited overloading by sand and sugarcane transporters as the worst abusers of Axle Load rules and overloading lords.

“We are here to engage them in a civil manner. After this, the law will follow its cause,” he said.

He was speaking during a meeting with road and infrastructure stakeholders, including sugarcane Transporters, Homa Bay Chamber of Commerce representatives, Kenya Traders Association, Sand Transporters Saccos and Kibos Sugar Company representatives.
