KeNHA To Close Section Of Lang’ata Road For 12 Hrs

Due to ongoing construction and facelifts in the area, motorists on Langata Road will face traffic disruption for 12 hours.

According to a notice issued by the Kenya National Highway Authority (KeNHA) on Thursday, October 13, the closure was necessitated by the planned ejection of a footbridge.

The footbridge near the Galleria Mall entrance and the U-turn slot at Nyumba Moja Road Junction will be erected from Saturday, October 15, at 5.00 a.m. to Sunday, October 16, at 5.00 p.m.

“The footbridge installation enhances pedestrians’ safety on the busy road. KeNHA advises motorists to follow the proposed traffic management plan and cooperate with the police on site,” the notice read in part.

Following the closure, motorists traveling to Nairobi’s CBD and those traveling to Karen will be forced to share lanes adjacent to the closed sections of Lang’ata Road.

Traffic marshals will be deployed, according to KeNHA, to assist motorists in maneuvering the area and avoiding snarl-ups.
