KeNHA To Reopen Mai Mahiu-Narok Road After Repairs

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) announced the Mai Mahiu-Narok Road would be opened on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 2.

The road was closed on Sunday, April 30 due to flooding that damaged a section of it.

The restoration work was in high gear, according to KeNHA, and the teams were instructed to work day and night to reopen the road as soon as possible.

Officials from the Ministry of Roads and Transport, led by the Principal Secretary for Roads, Eng. Joseph Mbugua, and KeNHA Director General, Eng. Kungu Ndungu, assured the public that the road would be fully restored by Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

The Mai Mahiu-Narok Highway developed deep cracks, making the road dangerous for motorists.

This happened 6 kilometres from Mai Mahiu Town to Narok.

Officials from the Ministry of Transport ordered the road to be closed for public safety and to allow for an expedition of restoration work.
