The Tembo Naming Festival Fundraiser Dinner took place this evening at the Nairobi National Park Club House in an effort to raise funds for drought mitigation across our ecosystems. Several conservation partners got to name elephants and donate funds to conservation.
Peninah Malonza, Tourism CS, stated that the Tembo Naming Festival promotes elephant conservation through various activities such as elephant naming, collaring and tracking, community livelihood projects, and conservation education programs.
She praised the more than 20 proud parents who have provided invaluable assistance by adopting elephants.

Through such initiatives, the Kenyan government, in collaboration with development and conservation partners, is working to conserve wildlife and mitigate the effects of drought.
