243 more Covid-19 positive cases pushed the country’s caseload rose to 39,427. – By Gerald Gekara
While announcing the update, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe announced that all of the positive cases are Kenyans apart from 6 who are foreigners.
Nairobi lead with (70) cases; Nakuru (44), Trans Nzoia (30), Kisumu (15), Mombasa (15), Narok (13), Kiambu (11), Kericho (10), Kakamega (7), Machakos (6), Isiolo (4), while Kajiado, Meru, Bungoma and Nandi confirmed (3) cases each.
Uasin Gishu recorded 2 cases, and Bomet, Kirinyaga, Laikipia and Kilifi reported (1) case each.
In terms of gender, 179 of the cases are male, while 64 are female. The youngest case is a four-month-old and the oldest aged 80 years.
Over the same period, 233 patients were discharged. 219 of them being from the home-based care program, while 14 were from hospitals.
Kenya’s death toll continued to rise, after the state reported three more patients had succumbed to the disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 731.
The rebounding cases of COVID-19 comes less than a week after the President lifted restrictions that restricted the spread.
Clubs and restaurants were opened, while churches and gatherings were directed to carry out activities provided they kept Ministry protocols on COVID-19.
