Editorial: Deal firmly with Murang’a violence idiots

The violence in Muranga that left one person dead and scores injured was not unexpected. – By Gerald Gekara

What with the chaos in Jubilee and the cold, bitter war between DP William Ruto and President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The Jubilee mess is their business. But the killing of an innocent Kenyan is not.

Kenyans careless about the implosion and confusion in Jubilee. But when it becomes a threat to national unity and blood shed, accountability must be assumed.

Our position is clear: no live must be lost because of politics. Whoever killed this youth must face the full force of the law.

This includes whoever paid for the artificial demos and the group that retaliated.

It must be stated here and now that the DP Ruto, or any other leader is free to visit any part of Kenya without hindrance.

Any other Kenyan for that matter must be free to roam the breadth of Kenya with police protection.

To deal with this stupidity once and for all, we expect stern action against all concerned, including the Police officers at whose jurisdiction this crime was committed.

This country must be rid of idiots who fan animosity for the sake of political aggrandisement.
