Kenya finishes last in Sydney Rugby tournament

Kenya’s Shujaa recorded the worst performance since the 2018-19 London tournament after finishing last in Sydney sevens in Australia last weekend.

Shujaas were grouped in Pool A alongside series leaders New Zealand, Fiji, and Wales.

Paul Feeney’s men have only clinched 26 points so far this season with 6 legs remaining.

Having shown great promise with an eighth-place finish at the Hamilton Sevens just a week ago, the quick dip in form during the two-day event at the Bank west Stadium left a lot to be desired.

Indiscipline was a major setback for the Shujaas after they lost to Wales in the latter stages of the contest with only 5 men playing.

Johnstone Olindi and Nelson Oyoo were sent to the sin bin for different infringements.

It was during that period of numerical superiority that Wales rallied to complete the comeback with two late tries which were converted.
