Kenya Railways Announces Resumption of Commuter Services on 2 Routes

    The Kenya Railways has announced the resumption of commuter services on the Kahawa West-Nairobi route and the Nairobi-Nanyuki route.

    In a notice on Tuesday, July 9, Kenya Railways Managing Director Philip Mainga disclosed that commuter services on the Kahawa West-Nairobi route will resume on Wednesday, July 10.

    “We are pleased to inform the public that the Kahawa West to Nairobi Central Station Commuter train will resume service on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

    “In line with the normal schedule, the train departs Kahawa West station at 9:00 a.m. and arrives at Nairobi Central station at 10:00 a.m.” Mainga stated.

    On the other hand, the Nanyuki passenger service train will resume its services on Friday, July 12, 2024.

    “We are pleased to inform the public that the Nanyuki Passenger Service train will resume service on Friday, July 12, 2024. In line with the normal schedule, the train departs Nairobi Central Station every Friday at 9 am and departs Nanyuki station every Sunday at 9 a.m.” the Kenya Railways MD added.

    He assured the passengers of their safety, maintaining that their safety was of importance to the corporation.
