Kenya Railways resumes commuter Train operations in Nairobi

Kenya Railways has continued all commuter train from Nairobi to Ruiru, Kikuyu, Embakasi, and Syokimau following a survey of the national check-in time hours – By Gerald Gekara.

Philip Mainga, Kenya Railways Managing Director said the schedule will run somewhere in the range of 6am and 7am and 5.30pm and 7pm, including that Ministry of Health rules on Covid-19 will be clung to.

“We are now offering full service running on the normal schedule. We will still enforce the Covid-19 guidelines to ensure transportation of commuters is a safe undertaking,” he said.

Mr Mainga said workers must wash their hands with cleanser at introduced water focuses while purifying corners are introduced to be utilized inside the stations.

The Nairobi-Mombasa will however remain closed, to stem the spread of Covid-19 diseases. The route will be reopened once the county to county movement ban will be lifted.
