Kenya Takes Significant Stride as Rehabilitation of Street Families is Taken into Account

The Street Families Rehabilitation Trust Fund, in conjunction with the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs, initiated the National Policy on the Rehabilitation of Street Families.

This strategy, which provides a thorough and long-lasting framework for addressing the rehabilitation needs of street families, is an admirable attempt.

The Ministry suggested that a comprehensive set of techniques be employed to support the families in an effective manner, and that the last step towards achieving the state’s goal of having a nation free of homeless families would be to finalise the policy’s implementation.

“To effectively support these families, we need well-planned and comprehensive strategies, all of which are addressed in this policy. Finalizing and implementing this policy are crucial steps toward realizing our vision of a country free of street families,” said the Ministry.

It added, “Heartfelt appreciation goes to the organizations and individuals involved in the policy development process. Your contributions and essential information have greatly enriched this document.”
