Kenya union of clinical officers has today held a press briefing on the clinical officer’s strikes which is set to start on 6th Dec 2020 after midnight.
The chairman of the Union Dr. Peterson Washira has stated that they have given the government enough time to solve the issues they put forward but the government has done very little to solve their grievances and therefore the strike shall go on as planned come Monday unless their issues have been solved
The chairman of KUCO has urged Kenyans to support them in this strike because they are on the Frontline and at a high risk of contacting Covid-19.
“The leadership has failed us and Kenyans as well,” he said. The union states that they have so far lost 9 clinical officers and 763 clinical officers have been infected since the onset of the pandemic.
However, the union has apologized to Kenyans who rely on public health services and assured them they are doing it for their own good.
