For the first time, Kenya will have produced a showmax original and it will also be showmax’s first co-coproduction with global broadcaster CANAL+. – By Sharon Maina.
The series that is the first Kenyan showmax original is known as crime and justice. This series will feature a couple of famous Kenyan actors namely Sarah Hassan, Alfred Munyua, Maqbul Mohammed, Paul Ogola, Brian Ogola ,Foi Wambui ,Brenda Mwai just to mention but a few.
This series is a police procedural,besides presenting elements of the legal systems. Crime and Justice is written by Pauline Inda, Anthony Nero, Brian Munene,Njue Kevin and Serah Mwihaki. Crime and Justice is directed by Adam Neutzsky-Wulff. Sarah Hassan and Alfred Munyua are the lead detectives in this series.
“When I first read the script, I loved the delivery and realness of Silas as a character. It’s not exaggerated and he’s no Rambo hero ; he just tackles his causes the normal way. I found a very real edge with this script and I hope I’ll do justice to the role.” Says Alfred Munyua who will be featured as Silas in the series.
“This is a very different character; I’ve never played anything like Makena before.It’s very exciting to get a character that makes me grow as an actor.” Says Sarah Hassan who will feature as Makena in the series.

Showmax says that the series is produced by an all Kenyan crew including production, directorship and cinematography. This series is for sure a big deal to Kenyans by the way they are excitedly waiting to watch it.
