Mzee Mohamednur Ali, Kenya’s long-serving councilor is dead.
The former Eldas Constituency councilor is said to have passed on at his home in Wajir county.
Mzee MohamedNur Ali served as Eldas councillor for over 40 years died at his Wajir home after a long illness.
Mzee Matnur held several positions including the chair of the defunct county council.
William Ruto sent his message of condolences to the family.
“We have lost a pioneer public servant, a steadfast advocate of peace, and a precious source of counsel. Mzee Mohamednur Ali (Matnur) was the longest-serving councillor/MCA in Kenya having started his career with the colonial administration & continued with successive governments.” Ruto said in a tweet.
