Renowned Tanzanian Taarab singer Khadija Kopa has spoken publicly for the first time about her daughter Zuchu’s secret wedding to Bongo Flava star Diamond Platnumz, confirming that the couple tied the knot quietly and without her presence.
In a heartfelt interview, the veteran artist expressed joy and gratitude for the union, despite not being part of the ceremony. She emphasized her support for the marriage and offered her blessings to the couple.
“When someone gets married, we give thanks. Alhamdulillah, because it’s not that we want our children to live in sin. But youth is like hot water—we’ve all been there, with boyfriends and all that,” Khadija shared, reflecting on the realities of young love and the importance of choosing marriage over secrecy.

Khadija revealed that although the wedding was conducted privately, what matters most is that Zuchu and Diamond chose to formalize their relationship. “They did it secretly, but we are thankful. Alhamdulillah. I pray for blessings upon them. May they bear good children who will respect them,” she said.
Addressing any speculation about her reaction to being left out, Khadija made it clear that she holds no resentment. Instead, she offered full support and motherly blessings to the newlyweds. “We are grateful to God because we prefer our children to marry and live peacefully,” she added.
The music legend also took a moment to speak about her past relationship with Zuchu’s father, stating that they separated years ago on amicable terms. “It is a decision we all agreed on. Each of us moved on peacefully,” she noted, dismissing any lingering rumors of conflict.
Khadija Kopa’s dignified and supportive response has been widely praised, with fans and fellow artists commending her maturity and grace during this important moment in her daughter’s life.
