Beyoncé and Venus Williams to Co-Chair the Met Gala

Global music and fashion icon Beyoncé has been named co-chair for the 2026 Met Gala, the annual fundraising event supporting the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

The gala will coincide with the opening of the Institute’s “Costume Art” exhibition on 10 May 2026, hosted in the newly inaugurated Condé Nast Galleries.

Curator Andrew Bolton highlighted that the exhibition will explore the dressed body, pairing garments with works of art to examine themes including the naked, pregnant, and aging body.

As co-chair, Beyoncé will play a central role in shaping the event’s dress code, alongside a host committee featuring Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, and other notable figures from the worlds of fashion and entertainment.

Beyoncé last attended the Met Gala in 2016, leaving a lasting impression in a Givenchy Haute Couture gown. Her return as co-chair underscores her influence in the fashion industry and her ability to blend star power with the creative vision of the Costume Institute.

The announcement has already sparked anticipation among fashion enthusiasts and the public, promising a Met Gala that will combine glamour, artistry, and cultural commentary.
