An 84-year-old man was today arraigned in court with charges of committing an indecent act with a 9-year-old girl.
Mr. Abdalah Sebit was before principal magistrate Derrick Kuto in Kibera.
It was said that the accused committed the atrocious act on February 22 at the Karanja area in Kibera. According to the police report, Abdalah called the minor to his house with intentions of sending her cigarettes.
He locked the house and maltreated her. In return, he gave the 9-yr-old Sh20 and asked her never to utter a word to anyone.
On February 24, while in school teachers noted a change in behavior of the complainant and it was then when she opened up and told the whole story.
Sebit pleaded not guilty and was released on Sh500, 000 bond with an alternative cash bail of Sh300, 000. His case will be heard on May 28, 2020.
