Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi has told youths in Kilifi to position themselves and become political decision-makers in this generation and the generation that will come after them.
Addressing hundreds of youths from all the seven sub-counties in Kilifi, Governor Kingi said the time has come that youths become critical decision-makers to reshape and define their lives for their betterment and the generation that will come after them.
He was addressing the youths from Ganze, Magarini, Malindi, Kilifi South, Rabai, Kilifi North and Kaloleni who had converged for the Pamoja African Alliance(PAA) youth convention at Bofa in the outskirts of Kilifi town.
"I can tell for free that as youths, you have the best option to make informed decisions pertaining to your lives now and in the future generations. You can do that by joining the PAA political outfit because it correctly suits your ambition to be leaders in this county and in the whole country in general,” governor Kingi said.
He told the convention that his efforts to bring the unity of the Coast region was informed by the fact that the region had been sidelined in terms of development and that time was ripe for the Coast region to have its own say.
“This gospel will be carried in all the six coastal counties and in the entire country beginning today. You are here with a purpose which among them, to seek political freedom from other vehicles that we had used for long but with minimal benefit to us. PAA has come in handy as the only remedy to this situation. We must embrace it because it holds the future for the generations and generations to come,” he said.
Governor Kingi who is the brainchild behind the formation of the PAA party said after living in a rented house for a long it was time to build their own home as a Coastal community and that the formation of PAA was conclusively for that to happen.
“We now have our own house and we can now arrange it the way we like it. We shall no longer be tenants but rather the landowners. Time has come to reshape our destiny and that time is now,” he said.
The Governor was accompanied by Deputy Leader of Majority at the Assembly Sammy Ndago, Sokoni MCA Gilbert Peru, PAA Youth League leader Samir Nyundo, County Secretary Arnold Mkare, Bella Tumaini among other PAA members.
